 A solution to lag?

Would replacing objects that are not in use with textures to prevent lag be a good idea?

I was thinking about when we do battle how much lag there would be due to everything being breakable i thought of a pretty good solution to this, when an object is not in use it is replaced with a textured image of it, when it is about to be used or hit it is replace by the actual version of it.

I've added the poll for the heck of it

nope, then weapons of mass destruction and the like won't work. things like off-map air support (aircraft yet to be summoned) don't need to exist yet.
